77th Street entrance

Carlyle House Lobby

Manhattan, New York

This space serves as the private entrance to the luxury apartments adjacent the famous Carlyle Hotel. Working with Paris-based decorator Jean-Louis Deniot, James Dixon Architect PC transformed the lobby into an elegant entry and sitting room. The addition of metal grilles and custom millwork brought interest to the design, while existing features were restored, where appropriate, to maintain a sense of history.
